Currently Available Plug-in Hybrid EVs (PHEVs) – US (As of September 4, 2021)
As of September 4, 2021 there are 32 plug-in electric hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) available in the US. BMW offers five, Volvo and Audi each offer three PHEV models. Kia, Porsche, Land Rover, Toyota, and Ford (when including Lincoln) each offer two PHEVs in the US.
The Wrangler 4xe started deliveries to Jeep dealers in Q1 and according to Stellantis (Jeep’s parent company), the 4xe has became the number one-selling PHEV in America in Q2 2021. The Hyundai Sonata PHEV and Kia Optima PHEV were both discontinued in 2020. The Ford Escape PHEV, was scheduled to arrive in Q3 or Q4 2020, but was delayed first due to battery fires with the Kuga PHEV, the European version of the Escape PHEV, and then the chip shortage. The Lincoln Corsair PHEV is expected to begin arriving at US dealers in October 2021.
